What part does CAS play in Daystar's DP program?
What part does CAS play in Daystar's DP program?
CAS is part of the "Core" in the DP. (In addition to CAS, the Core also includes the Theory of Knowledge course and the extended essay.) A student who fails to satisfy the CAS requirements will not be awarded an IB diploma, even if they have met all other DP requirements satisfactorily. In addition, students must fulfill the CAS requirements to graduate from Daystar Academy.

Students must:

- Engage in and reflect upon 18 months of continuous creativity, activity and service experiences
- Participate in at least one month-long collaborative "CAS Project"
- Use the CAS stages as a framework for CAS experiences and CAS projects
- Maintain a CAS portfolio as evidence of their engagement with CAS
- Participate in a minimum of 3 CAS interviews during 11th and 12th grade, including a final CAS interview in which they discuss their CAS portfolio and reflect on their overall CAS experience
